Already the market leader in light rail vehicle manufacturing in North America, Siemens Industry, Inc., Mobility Division recently completed a $26 million expansion of its Sacramento plant to serve the burgeoning public transit market. The larger plant will also allow Siemens to bring new products to the U.S. market – namely, high speed rail. With one megawatt of solar energy already in place, Siemens is entering the second phase of its solar project and is adding an additional megawatt, bringing the total solar power to 2 MW at the Sacramento facility.
